5 P.S. with autograph apostilles, [ca. 1574]; 1 oblong page in-8 or in-4 each. Placets to the King annotated by him (one or two lines in his hand) and signed, beginning (except one) with the formula "Plaise au Roy". S. de SANSAC (and his son) asks for the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Junien de Nouaillé near Poitiers, vacant by the death of Jean de Mareuil, "to provide for such a person capable of holding it as he may advise": "Grant the abbey of Nouaylle". The S. de NYVOLLOIS, one of his butlers, asks to be laid down on the state of his house, and asks for a pension: "When the state will be made scera mys above & can not be the rest". Jacques des CARS, to be laid down "on the state of the ordinary gentlemen of his room": "Agrees & baylle to Villeroy for man souvenyr". S. de PIGONNE PARDAILLAN, to be paid for his status as a gentleman of the chamber: "Accorde de luy estre donné cartyer". The violins, who "have done pleasant service to the King of Spain, your late sister, and after her death, have also done service to the late King Charles your brother, and to the King his wife", claim the payment of their pension: "Accorde pourveu qu'ils vyennent servyr".
