CHINE A rare turquoise blue and purple (aubergine) enamelled biscuit inkwell, of quadrangular shape, resting on a double base. Each side decorated with a Chinese character of wishes engraved in a mandorla-shaped cartouche on a squared background. The top surmounted in the center by a miniature biscuit vase with a turquoise blue background surrounded by four receptacles including two ink cups. Kangxi period (1662-1722). A chip at the base and a hair in star on one side. It has been adapted in France to a chased and gilt bronze mounting of the first half of the 19th century at its base with a frieze of foliage, and at the top with strings of pearls surrounding the receptacles.
