Two large porcelain bowls of circular shape decorated in blue underglaze with two pentadactyl dragons (5 claws) chasing the sacred pearl among the clouds. On the reverse, four-character mark THIÊU TRI NIÊN TAO. Emperor Thiêu Tri (1807-1847) was the third ruler of the Nguyen dynasty. He ascended the throne in 1841, until 1847. The dragon and pearl motifs are slightly different on the two bowls.
