Meeting of three texts. Large title vignette for each work as well as the printer's mark on the colophon. Johann-Jakob Fugger commissioned his librarian Jerome Wolf to write a history of the Byzantine Empire, from the reign of Constantine to the conquest by the Ottomans, based on the texts of Zonaras, Nicetas, Gregoras and Chalcondyles. Wolf translated them from Greek to Latin according to unpublished manuscripts, except for the last one of which he kept Clauser's translation. This last text (De rebus turcicis) is entirely devoted to the Ottomans, an enemy whose expansionist ambitions the Fuggers feared. The text of Nicetas, which follows that of Zonaras, has been bound in this copy. Manuscript bookplate on the title page: Biéville. Joints cracked, strong restorations.
