Model 1821 infantry officer's saber for the National Guard. Chased brass mounting. Oval cap with laurel wreath, round joint bow, small hilt branch and curved quillon. Wooden buttstock covered with watermarked leather. Hollow-point blade marked "GARDE NATIONALE". Leather scabbard with two brass fittings. Total length: 85cm. France, First half of the 19th century.
