Two-tone 750‰ gold brooch presenting a butterfly entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds, the edges of the front wings with small round rubies, those of the back wings with small round emeralds, all four centered with oval opal cabochons, the tips of the antennae set with small brilliant-cut diamonds, the eyes with round emeralds, the head with a small oval ruby, the prothorax with a square emerald and the abdomen with two falling oval opal cabochons. The wings are slightly hinged (undersized pin system), and square. Modern French work in the taste of earlier productions. Gross weight: 18.8 g; size: 6.2 x 4 (insect) cm.
