Six exhibitions of Japanese prints organized by Raymond Koechlin (1860-1931) at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs between 1909 and 1914: 66 Japanese collectors, mostly French, loaned over 2,300 works accumulated in their portfolios throughout the Japanese vogue that had reigned in Paris since the mid-19th century. These works are by 130 different artists - students or masters - whose names are sometimes still unknown to the public. A few months after the inauguration of each section, 6 catalogs were published. We present the last four catalogs.
Impressive documentation of rare Japanese prints.
Beginnings of cracks to some cases. One flap detached.
