Marine pistol by Cassagnard in Nantes. Flintlock lock signed "Cassagnard à Nantes" and swan-neck hammer. Double-registered brass barrel with sides, then round, and reinforcing bead at the muzzle. Carved walnut stock. All brass fittings. Total length: 29 cm France, circa 1780. Category D weapon. Cassaignard or Casagnard 1709-1786. Harquebusier in Nantes, renowned for his production of weapons for naval officers.
