(Alberti Family) – NIZZA / NICE – Several documents in Italian, including two on decorated parchment. Document bearing the printed letterhead of Carlo Alberto, King of Sardinia, Cyprus, and Jerusalem; Duke of Savoy and Genoa; Prince of Piedmont; etc., etc. Folio-sized document dated August 2, 1833, bearing a heraldic seal on white paper, protected by folded paper. Handwritten folio-sized document bearing the signatures of Barbaroux (for C. Alberto), Traggia, and Ciartora, dated August 2, 1833. Notice of the retirement of Nice attorney Francesco Albert for health reasons, with a pension (traces of folds; document preserved folded into quarters). Enclosed are two manuscripts on parchment, in colored inks, with interlacing patterns, ornaments, and drawings; each bears a red wax seal preserved in a repoussé metal box and is bound with cord. The first manuscript is a notebook of 6 ff. in-4 (24 x 17 cm), in green and gold ink, a certificate of nobility granted to Octavius Franciscus Alberti in the name of Pope Innocent XII by Alexander Sfortia, Archbishop of Neocaesarea, dated May 4, 1698. It is adorned with a Maltese cross in gold, silver, and green ink on the second page and a beautiful letter adorned with three such crosses. The second manuscript, from 1737, consisting of 6 ff. in-4 (27 x 21 cm), of which 4 folios are used, is a letter of appointment by Francesco Arborio Gattinara (1858–1743), Archdiocese of Turin, Grand Chaplain to the King, concerning Marcellus Hyacinthus and Maria Alberti. Written in red and green ink, with a drawing of putti on the first page, and a coat of arms on the verso of the last leaf in red, blue, green, and sepia. Yellowed, stained parchment (from moisture) with a 5 cm² loss on the third leaf (unwritten). Attached are handwritten documents in quarto format: *Regestro Primo della Patenti dell’avvocato Francesco de Albert i negli anni 1784, 1786, 1787 e 1788* (a quarto-format notebook containing 10 documents, approx. 27 pp.).
