(BARON IMBERTI, in MONACO), handwritten notebook in French, containing copies of Baron Imberti’s correspondence from 1866 to 1868. Quarto-sized notebook measuring 25.5 × 20 cm, in a dark green period half-basane binding, unmarked spine, covers of black-dotted parchment with a floral motif. Approximately 270 pages, containing copies of letters sent by the baron to various lawyers, representatives of various government agencies—including public works departments—as well as banks and artisans in Nice, Naples, Florence, Rome, Paris, … (notable names include Bottini, Delacroix, Arminati, Malaussena, Pontieroli, Langlois, Lagarigue, Gavini, Count Picolomini, Commander Colcaboli, Commander Naldrini—Consuls of Haiti and Norway, etc.—and Thomas, an arquebusier in Paris, etc.). Also included with this volume: - - an autograph letter signed by Aimé Vingtrinier (an author from the Bresse region), on the letterhead of the *Revue du Lyonnais*—a lengthy four-page letter in-8 dated August 10, 1858, in which Vingtrinier laments, due to inadequate transportation, his inability to be in Lyon to welcome his friend and show him around the library; he spent the month of July in Uriage and is now “in the rich and tranquil Bresse; I have brought books and am working…”. - A signed autograph letter from Bottini’s lawyer in Menton, dated April 18, 1869, regarding a sum of 4,500 francs. (1 page, in-8 format, in its envelope, on which various calculations have been made), - Also enclosed are about twenty draft letters, small receipts, and sheets with various calculations. The corners of the notebook are worn with some paper loss; there is a tear along the lower hinge measuring 8 cm.
