SOCIÉTÉ DE REPRODUCTION DE DESSINS DE MAÎTRES (1909–1914) “Study for The Neapolitan Fisherman” by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux Facsimile 28.5 x 20 cm. (on demand) SRDM mark in the lower left corner (Lugt 5417). The original drawing was exhibited under No. 783 in the Official General Catalog of the 1900 Exposition (Centennial Exposition). Lille, n.d., in-8°. *The Neapolitan Fisherman*, also known as *The Child with the Shell*, was sent to Paris by Carpeaux in 1858, while he was a student at the École de Rome. The bronze was exhibited at the 1859 Salon and the marble version at the 1863 Salon. The artist made several replicas. The original drawing appears to correspond to the version in which the head is slightly draped and which is known as *The Laughing Neapolitan*. Provenance and exhibition history to be completed.
