COURT SWORD ATTRIBUTED TO HENRI SIMÉON. Gilded bronze frame on amatite and mother-of-pearl background. Pommel in the shape of a stick with palm and foliage decorations. Joint bow with lion's head ending in a fish with scales and slightly bent quillon. Keyboard decorated with a profile of a Roman soldier under a royal crown flanked by trophies of arms on oak leaves. Wooden spindle with mother-of-pearl plates (one missing), including a brass blade decorated with a frieze of fleur-de-lis. Straight blade with triangular section engraved, gilded and blued in third. Leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings. Gusseted cap chased with acanthus leaf. Body decorated with spider webs. Plain buttler decorated with line and spherical dart. Total length 95 cm. France, Restoration period. It is accompanied by a chased brass plate marked " Henri Cte Siméon Prefet Conseil d'Etat Député 1803-1874 ". HENRI SIMÉON 1803-1874 Son of Joseph Balthazar Siméon Pair de France.
