Full brown morocco, decorated with mosaic holly branches on the boards, smooth spine decorated with the same motif, author, title and date gilt, inside framing of brown morocco decorated with mosaic holly branches, covers and spine preserved, lined case [E. CARAYON]. Edition illustrated with 170 etchings in colors and in black, including a frontispiece with the portrait of Baudelaire and 6 hors-texte, drawn and engraved by Armand Rassenfosse, student of Félicien Rops. There are also many colored caps. Limited edition of 115 numbered copies; this one n°70, printed for Paul Lucas. Bound at the end of the volume: the boards for pages 155 to 160 and the Note for the bookbinder. Attached: the prospectus dated 1897. Complete copy of the cover which is often missing: "The work having appeared in deliveries under boards, the general cover of yellow tone, illustrated with a greenish tone pattern, is very rare. (Carteret). A very fine copy, bound in mosaic morocco of the period. Spine slightly faded, some leaves of the holly having turned beige; a few leaves uniformly and slightly sunned. Carteret, t.
