Four octagonal porcelain bowls, one large and three smaller ones decorated on the outer wall with eight medallions representing dragons scrolled in blue underglaze, framed by two friezes of ruyi. Four medallions are surmounted by a THIÊU TRI NIÊN TAO character. Emperor Thiêu Tri (1807-1847) was the third ruler of the Nguyen dynasty. He ascended the throne in 1841, until 1847. 19th century Diameter: of the large bowl: 19 cm; small: 13.5 cm (a hair with a small chip to a small bowl, three small chips to another) A similar model in the collections of the Royal Museum of Mariemont (Belgium)
