Set of two swords attributed to dragoon officers. Comprising: -A British officer's sword. Gilt bronze mounting. Faceted pommel chased with rocailles and topped with a button. Flat jointed bow with cut sides and straight quillon decorated with stylized acanthus leaves in the extension. Top with symmetrical, finely chased double pontats. Wooden spindle with silver filigree. Single-edged straight blade produced in Solingen. Engraved with the figure of King George II of England under a crown, the arms of England (1727-1860) and the motto "DIEU EST MON DROIT" ("GOD IS MY RIGHT").
