The Prince of the Eastern Palace, "Đông Cung" is a prestigious historical title in Vietnam. It designates the crown prince of the throne, traditionally the eldest son of the king or emperor. From the Ly dynasty until the Nguyen dynasty, the Đông Cung Thái Tử was installed in a residence called "the Eastern Palace". The prince of the Eastern Palace mentioned on this calendar is Prince Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Long (1936-2007), eldest son of Bảo Đại, on March 7, 1939, crown prince of the last emperor of Vietnam, Bảo Đại before the abolition of the monarchy.
