Small gold sequins complete the ornamentation. Calligraphy in a cartouche on a red background "thất chánh" (七政, "seven principals"). The "Seven Principals" refer to the seven main stars - Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn, Sun and Moon - that govern human life according to Sino-Vietnamese cosmology. The inside of the almanac in manuscript. Threads pulled - wear - moisture stains inside - soiling to cover and tear to front flyleaf. Dim. 31 x 21 cm N.B.This astronomical calendar shows the trajectory of its seven stars over the course of the year and their influence. The Historical Annals refer to this calendar as Thất chánh kinh vĩ chiều độ ("Seven principal astronomical longitudes and latitudes"). As with the Hiệp Kỷ lịch, this yellow silk-covered astronomical almanac was intended for the Imperial Family (Emperor Bảo Đại, Empress Nam Phương, Crown Prince Bảo Long, Dowager Empress đức Từ Cung, ...).
