Vietnam, 20th century, Important hanging in red, yellow, green and beige silk, decorated with gold-thread embroidery in a cartouche of calligraphy stating "made by officials of the city of Binh Thuan in 1936 under the reign of Bao Dai", surrounded by two banners with polychrome and gold-thread embroidery motifs, of chrysanthemum branches, prunus, butterflies, dragons and phoenixes around the sacred jewel on one, Buddhist emblems and precious objects on the second. Half-relief mirror cabochons complete the ornamentation. Label affixed lower left "Lâm Truong-Liên", thêu va Dan, Tran-Duy-Binh located at 75 rue d'Ormay - Saigon. Stains on reverse.
