LEPAGE MOUTIER in Paris. Mahogany dueling pistol case by Lepage Moutier adorned on the lid with a cut-out brass motif, inlaid and engraved with a monogram (CB) surmounted by a marquisal crown. Inside sheathed in burgundy velvet. It features a fine pair of "F. P. Lepage Moutier à Paris" dueling pistols. Rifled damascus barrels signed on top. Breech tails, front plates, hammers, finger rests and fittings, all finely engraved with foliate scrolls. Carved walnut stocks and front barrels, decorated with foliage. With these accessories, a rosewood mallet, a round bullet mould, a screwdriver - chimney remover with rosewood handle, an attractive copper powder flask with brass measuring spout signed Le Page in Paris, a cleaning rod and a tamping rod. Circa 1840-1850 Category D weapon.
