[ART DECO - WALLPAPER] ALBUM OF WALLPAPER SAMPLES FROM THE HOUSE OF PAUL DUMAS. Montreuil, [1930s]. 1 vol. in-folio oblong. 33 x 45 cm. Green percaline, gilt title to front cover, three fastening nails. Indication on front cover: "Collection P. D. Lightfast colors. Made in France". An important album containing over 300 wallpaper samples, some with matching friezes, and offering an interesting panorama of the different graphic styles that could adorn Parisian interiors in the late 1930s. The motifs presented are highly varied, often in bright, stenciled colors. They are often presented in several color variations. The Dumas wallpaper factory was built in Montreuil in 1913 by architects Lecœur and Jodard. The Dumas factory closed in 1978. The first Samples are missing.
