Edition of 1000 copies. One of 175 copies on hollande van Gelder with a black suite of illustrations.
Edition illustrated in color by Henry Cheffer with 15 large compositions in the text, one hors-texte (frontispiece), 5 headpieces and 5 lettrines, as well as the cover vignette. The title-page vignette, 41 culs-de-lampe and 50 decorative bands are not included in the suite.
Henry Cheffer (1880-1957) designed the Marianne which was engraved on our stamps from 1967 to 1971. 120 / 150 €
