Collection of 144 handwritten ink and armorial plates, captioned
In French, handwritten and watercolored plates
France, circa 1913 or earlier.
Size of plates: 405 x 295 mm
Boards preserved in a cardboard portfolio, covered with combed marbled paper.
Collection of coat-of-arms designs, organized in folders with a particular piece of furniture on the cover. For example, the folder with chevrons contains draft coats of arms for identified families whose coats of arms contain chevrons. Similarly, the folder with ermines contains draft coats of arms for families whose coats of arms feature ermines.
Accompanying documentation suggests that these plates are drafts for a publication or supplements to the following publication: "Revue internationale L'ex-libris. Heraldry. Armorials. Blasons. Généalogies" (Chez Daragon libraire-éditeur, 1913).
Several coats of arms are stamped in red "Normandie" ink, indicating that they belong to Norman families.
