China, Qianlong period, 18th century, A pair of cinnabar lacquer tea caddies on bronze cores, resting on four ruyi-shaped feet, finely carved in medallions with floral compositions, peonies, prunus, bamboo and chrysanthemums. Lotus flowers and foliage complete the decoration. Cinnabar lacquer handles, finely chased ormolu mounts featuring two dragon heads. A prunus flower controls the mechanism. The lacquer is slightly missing. Height 17 cm; Length 17.5 cm; Depth 12 cm
