Ecritoire de marine in wood and marquetry of light and stained woods, the lid and sides decorated with bouquets of flowers, butterflies and fillets. It features two wooden shelves. The lower shelf, sheathed in red leather, opens with a leather pull, revealing two other rectangular compartments, one of the backs decorated with foliate scrolls. The upper shelf is decorated on both sides with a bullfighting scene and a dueling scene framed by foliage, among rabbits, parrots and butterflies. It opens with a leather pull, revealing a large two-tier compartment with seven drawers. The back is decorated with stars in the center and on the spandrels. The upper part, decorated with floral scrolls and butterflies, contains drawers with brass handles and interlacing decoration. Dutch work of the 18th century. Brass keyhole and key with openwork interlace decoration, both mounted. 19.5 x 63.5 x 41.5 cm (closed) 15 x 84.5 x 63.5 cm (open) (modern restorations and some repaints on or simulating marquetry inside; worn and stained leathers)
