19th century FRENCH SCHOOL, after Frà SEMPLICE DA VERONA Angels weeping for Christ Panel, one board, not parqueted 30 x 19 cm Crack Based on an original by Frà Semplice da Verona, a copy of which is now in the Louvre (see S. Loire, Peintures italiennes du XVIIe siècle du musée du Louvre : Florence, Gênes, Lombardie, Naples, Rome et Venise, Paris 2006, pp. 358-359, no. 504, reproduced). Two copies of the Louvre painting are held in French collections: one in Amiens (Musée de Picardie) and a second in Troyes (Musée des Beaux-Arts).
