PHOTOGRAPHY. Album from the photographic collection of Gilbert Gimon. An oblong in-4 album bound in plain red half-shagreen, containing 46 assorted prints, including 35 unlabeled photographs (Franche-Comté, Switzerland, and various locations) measuring 12 × 17 or 18 cm, and 21 captioned photographs of Nice and Monte Carlo measuring 15 × 20 cm. Collection stamp on the first photograph. Included is an album of 12 photographs published in Cannes by Robaudi: Alpes-Maritimes, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Menton. Small oblong in-4 album, red half-shagreen, decorated spine, gilt title, gilt and decorated title on the front cover on a blue percaline label, gilt edges; each photo is framed by a typographic border with a caption printed in blue. Also included are 13 amateur photographs in various formats (13 x 15, 12 x 18, 17.5 x 18), of Nice and the French Riviera, some captioned and dated on the reverse, including “Cannes, La Croisette,” taken at night by Raymond Puyniet, circa 1960. And mounted on heavy gray paper, with red or sepia line borders: 16 views—Nice, Monument to the Annexation to France, 27 x 21.7 cm (circa 1880). Cannes and surroundings: 4 photos measuring 12 x 18.5 cm; Île Saint-Honorat: 2 photos measuring 12 x 18.5 cm; and 5 views of Nice and the surrounding area from the “Mediterranean Coast” collection, measuring 9.5 x 15 cm.
