Contemporary black half calf, smooth spine with ornate faux-nerves, gilt title and tomaison. First edition. The work is illustrated with numerous engraved plates, some lithographed and coloured plates (costumes) and 1 folding map. Gilt mention on the upper cover of the binding: "Offered by the society of agriculture, science and arts of Meaux to Mr Alfred de Colombel owner in Annet. Comice de La Ferté-sous-Jouarre 28 May 1854." Various rubs, leather missing at tail, corners worn, frontispiece, title and title leaves detached.
