De Turcarum moribus epitome. Lyon, Jean de Tournes, 1578. 1 vol. in-18. Red morocco with 18th century lace, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, smooth spine with false-nerves decorated with fleurs-de-lis. The work is illustrated with six in-text woodcuts. Edition printed in Latin comprising texts first published in Antwerp in 1544. They describe in particular the life and customs of the Turks in the 16th century as well as the tortures suffered by Christians in Turkey. The Lyon printer Jean de Tournes published this work for the first time in 1553. > Copy with the arms attributable to Louis-Joseph de Bourbon, prince of Condé, duke of Bourbon (1736-1818). Manuscript bookplate of Count Alphonse de la Guère on the verso of a flyleaf. O.H.R. pl. 2635. Arms and ornaments on the spine struck in reverse.
