Rare first edition, all the more rare in an armorial binding. This is a copy of Jean-Pierre II de Montchal, Chevalier, seigneur de Noyen, de Grisy. Nephew of the archbishop of Toulouse, Charles de Montchal, he was appointed counsellor to the parliament of Paris in 1680. > Handwritten bookplate on the title page: Counay.
