Venetiis, in Aedibus Haeredum Aldi, et Andreae Soceri, Decembri 1533. 1 vol. in-8. Full contemporary cold-stamped calf over woodblock. 51]ff, 295ff. With pagination error, but not missing. Printer's mark and some woodcuts in-text. Second Aldine edition, given by the heirs of Aldus and Andrea Torresani in December 1533, bringing together three great Latin treatises on agriculture, those of Cato, Varro and Columella, to which was added the treatise on trees by Palladius. The first Aldine edition of this collection had appeared in 1514, with a preface by Aldus reproduced in this edition. The text is that published by the Juntes in 1521, with some corrections. Some 16th-century handwritten notes in the margins. Superb 16th-century cold-stamped binding, differing on both covers. Manuscript bookplate on the title page: Godfridus Benjaminus Güntherus, cuius liberalitati debet Jo. Fridicus Thomas. Ex-libris in red ink "Henricus Luitter... "(?), on the back of the title leaf. Superb period stamped binding. Missing the headpieces and part of the clasps. Small marginal spotting on the first three leaves. Brunet, V, 246.
