Davidis Cytræi Chronologia Historiæ Herodoti et Thucydidis Cui adiecta est series temporum mundi. Helmæstadii. Ex Officina Typographica Iacobi Lucii, 1585. 1 vol. in-4. Bound in : Calendarium vetus romanum. Ostendens, qui dies toto anno Romæ olim Fasti, comitiales, Senatorii, Iudicilaes, nefasti & ç. suerint (...) Copy with the figure of Honoré d'Agut, in memory of his friend Peiresc. It presents on the boards, the so-called "rustic" monogram, whose design is close to the one used by Peiresc (called "elegant monogram"), which can be found on about thirty works coming exclusively from the d'Agut collections. This monogram posed a real problem of bibliophilic order, because it repeats the composition of Peiresc's. Parallel works by Isabelle de Conihout and Bruno Marty confirm this regular confusion of attribution. D'Agut was also a Councillor at the Parliament of Provence. The inked monogram at the bottom of the title page is the one combining the letters of the names of Honoré d'Agut and his wife Marguerite de Blégiers (HDAMB). This one is partly erased. The binding may have been done by Simon Corberan, Peiresc's bookbinder. Handwritten bookplate on the back cover: Cte Alphonse de la Guère. Worm gallery in the margin, heavy freckling and spotting, angular wetness. Stains on the covers of the binding.
