Lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, humanist scholar in the best tradition, Pierre Dupuy (1582-1651) was Keeper of the King's Library from 1645 jointly with his brother, and it is partly there, as well as in the treasure of the Charters, that he drew the essential of the documentation necessary for the work.
