Contemporary basane, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, gilt fillet in the frame, ornate spine, red morocco title-piece. 2] ff, 61pp, 58pp, 49pp, 28pp, 75pp, 37pp. A large vignette on the title by L. Gaultier, representing the four continents, 5 intermediate titles with a large repeated vignette, 4 printer's marks, coat of arms of Louis XIII repeated twice and 483 finely woodcut coats of arms in the text. This is the major work of Jean Le Féron, a famous heraldist of the time of Charles IX, whom Etienne Pasquier called "the great researcher of coats of arms". > Copy with arms unfortunately not identified but well present in O.
