The forty homilies to the sermons of S. Gregory the Great, pope, on the Gospels of the Year. Translated into French. Paris, Pierre le Petit, 1665. 1 vol. in-4. Full green morocco, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, triple gilt fillet on the boards, ornate ribbed spine, red morocco title-piece, edges gilt on marbling. 6] ff, 644pp, [1] f.
Engraved title vignette, headband, lettering. Bound with the arms of Madame Victoire, daughter of Louis XV. These works were bound by Fournier, in Versailles, and by Vente.
Ex-libris pasted on the upper counterplate, bearing the motto: "Mens Flecti Nescia".

Some leaves uniformly faded. Heavy spotting at the bottom of the leaves, from page 616 onwards, with damage to the bottom of the binding, on the boards.
