Paris, Compagnie des libraires associés au Livre de la Semaine sainte, 1688. 1 vol. in-8. Contemporary havana morocco with fanfare, gilt arms in the centre of the boards, spine decorated, gilt title. Original edition. The work is illustrated with 2 hors-texte engraved in intaglio by J. B. Scotin. Copy in havana morocco with fanfare with the later arms of Marie-Josèphe de Saxe (1731-1767). She was the second wife of Louis, dauphin of France, son of Louis XV, and the mother of the last three kings of the elder branch of the Bourbons (Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X). O.H.R. pl. 2526, irons no. 2 and no. 9. Lacking at the lower headpiece, spines cracked, wear at the corners, title page restored, tear to a hors-texte with lack.
