Nanjing, late 19th century,
Pair of beige crackle-glazed stoneware vases, decorated in Famille Rose enamels with equestrian jousting. The base of the neck and the rim of the heel are adorned with concentric brown bisque bands of frothing waves and salamander dragons in half-relief. The neck flanked by two Buddhist lions in brown bisque forming handles.
Accidents to the neck of one, to the tail of one of the Buddhist lions and to the leg of one of the salamander dragons.
