Complete with both original albumen prints by Jean-Baptiste Anfossi and Radiguet: full body and skull. Partially published in the *Archives des missions scientifiques*. Émile Rivière was deputy director of the laboratory at the Collège de France, president of the Société Préhistorique de France, and director at the École des Hautes-Études of the Collège de France. Clean inside. The spine and the back cover are missing; there is a tear in the margins of the front cover, with slight water stains. A small section missing on page 55 has been glued to the following page.
