OCTOBON, François Charles Ernest. “Nice Has Never Been Itali - Lot 113
OCTOBON, François Charles Ernest. “Nice Has Never Been Italian.” A Treatise on the County of Nice by Commander Octobon. October 1940. 1 vol. in-8. 79 pp. Black half-cloth, marbled paper covers, title label. Historical typescript concerning the question of Nice’s nationality. This does not appear to be a copy, as no other trace of this text has been found. François Charles Ernest Octobon, born in Menton on October 5, 1881, and died in the same city on October 20, 1969, was a French archaeologist and prehistorian. His publications (more than two hundred), international papers, and lectures (nearly two hundred fifty, according to Louis Cappatti, a historian from Nice) are countless.
